Note that it is the Embraer building! They have taken much market share from Airbus on the smaller size aircraft market. Perhaps this was an attempt at revenge!

I would say the PIC had a little "situational awareness" problem. Hey, some epoxy and duct tape and it will be good as new.....

Then he has filled the hole and fly back to Toulouse (Airbus factory) for final fixing...
