Peterson. Museum Vault GT40

I recently did "The Vault" tour at the Peterson Museum and they had the number 6 car in Gulf livery.
I've become fascinated with the gt40 history and am currently reading "Go Like Hell" and would really appreciate knowing more about the GT40 I saw at the museum. Thanks in advance to all who chime in.
