Radiator Shroud and Plumbing

A picture of my buddy Dale, we cut out a construction paper mock up of the radiator shroud which I made out of polished stainless aluminum. Doing those inside cutouts is a real challenge, but I think it turned out really well. Dale used a plasma cutter to do the cut outs, but you don't want to linger or you will warp the metal. I hand polished all the aluminum; just couldn't bring myself to powder coat over all that beautiful welding. That's not to say the powder coating is a bad way to go. You guys who have powder coated are done while I will be polishing for the rest of my life...

An outstanding job, you must be very pleased with the finished product. In my opinion the quality is too good to be powder coated. Out of interest, do the cooling pipes, from the original GT40s run through the centre of the car, or round by the fuel pods?

Very shineeee!

Unfortunately I think you may regret that decision - I polished every gosh darn piece of aluminum in my cobra and ended up powdercoating everything in the end when I realized the upkeep .... aaaaah. :O
