Hi Stephen,Hi Paul
I think we met up at the British welcome in Le Mans a few years ago. The car is looking fantastic. Unfortunately I have now sold my GT40, and moved on, but I really hope you have as much fun and enjoyment as I had with my GT40 over the last 25 years.
I'll look forward to seeing you and your car at Le Mans soon !!
All the best
Stephen
Thanks Mike.Any update? Love this build
Mike
Just sern your question and in answer no they are not a SGT product. Are those dished tri-wing spinners (rear wheels) from SGT?
Nice looking stands !! Just spent the last hour downloading your photos, got to say they are going to make the start of my build so much easier, just sorting the workshop, getting ready for the first rivet, of many, will start a build log once I have begun....Gulp![]()
Thanks Andy, the dash is in for good now so allbeing well will not need to come out again so with that in mind and also the fact I want to get a few miles on it as a shake down before paint I think I’ll get it done pre IVA, I no this is what SGT do with the cars they IVA.Hi Paul,
Glad to see you're making good progress, engine start-up is always a great milestone. Regarding the windscreen fittings, as they are generally bonded in, I would recommend getting the screen permanently fitted after the vehicle has been IVA’d & painted
When I presented mine for the IVA, the screen was located via a blobs of silicone and black electrical tape to weatherproof it for the test. It’s much easier to work on the dash with the screen removed and it needed final finishing as part of refit activities post paint and IVA
Regards,
Andy
Cheers Shaun, no reason for the ally bottle to fail, just need to make sure it meets criteria for volume etc...Slow down I'll never catch you up at your pace
Quick question is that alloy washer bottle ok for IVA? I have the naff plastic one fitted at the moment as I didn't think the alloy ones were allowed...Until after IVA that is!!!
