Spotters: Is this GT40 P/1028...?

Yesterday I stopped in at Legendary Motorcar Co. in Milton, Ontario (just west of Toronto) and saw this Ford GT40 MkI on display.

The salesman told me that this car was originally a road car that was converted to JWA Gulf racing livery, but he did not know the car's serial number. The car doesn't appear on the LMC website either.

After consulting the SAAC World Registry, I think this may well be chassis no. P/1028. Can anyone here confirm or correct this guess?

Is its chassis plate missing? Does it have a log book? In Ronnie Spains book. Its last owner when in Hollywood where as you say in 1981 it was resprayed in Gulf colours for a look a like of a P1075 Le Mans winner for a Gulf Advert.
It will be a lot easier when Ronnies book comes out.

Car is real as rain.

It will likely be put back to original configuration.

There are at least 4 originals in Canada.
