Because anyone that knows Superformance cars knows it takes hours and hours of labor and time sealing up air and water leaks on the chassis. And most know that Rick sold these kits years ago and has since run out of stock. If you plan on washing the car, you either install this kit or get yourself a good wet/dry vac. They leak water everywhere. Car has never seen the track.

Well I guess it is established that I am not anyone or most. Thanks for the response.

Beautiful GT40. I parked next to it at the annual Legacy Bank Shelby Meet in Dallas, TX in June 2016 when it was brand new. Original owner never drove it much at all after that and then sold it I believe in 2018 to Vanguard, who I assume you bought it from. Must be like brand new!

Good memory. Yes that’s the car. Vanguard sold it to a collector out of Beverly Hills. Due to Covid he was unable to register and gave up on the process. I purchased the car in summer. Spent quite a bit of time sorting it out and applying lessons I’ve learned over the years on these cars. It’s one thing to build a Superformance. It’s an entirely different thing to sort one out. It smells brand new inside and the car shows very well!

Hello Chad. Quick question for clarity for me: Was this a rolling chassis built by Superformance, as they do today, then delivered to the USA for fitment of engine/trans? Or, was this a 'kit' produced and then built by a private party. You mention 'kit' a couple of times. I thought Superformance only delivered these cars as factory build, minus engine/trans. Thanks for clarifying.

Correct. Typically these are sold as complete units. In 2015 they took a roller to SEMA. It was sold to the first owner, sent to Texas and built by BSP Motorsports.
