Some of you may have been following this car which just sold.
All is relative, Neil!If you think a two- year wait is long, check out this from Randall:
All is relative, Neil!
For instance; God willing, I'll turn 78 in June. Given the backlog at Ultima, if I were to order one of their 1,200 H.P Ultima RS models today, it's conceivable that I wouldn't see it sitting in my driveway 'til I was at least 83-years-old (assuming a 2 year backlog time + build time + shipping time).
Even assuming I'd still have a valid driver's license by then (not a guaranteed proposition at all these days), how much driving time would logic and the 'actuarials' dictate I might actually get in behind the wheel before I took the looooong dirt nap?
'Not pleasant to ponder.
Even less pleasant to ponder; what if I were to croak during the car's assembly process or just before the car was scheduled to be shipped - or, worse yet - it had already BEEN shipped? Would my Mrs be able to cancel the whole deal and get at least the majority of the money back? Would there need to be lawyer$ involved?
Needless to say, the car would be totally useless to her to say nothing of a big headache to deal with from a 'selling' standpoint.
'Bottom line is: someone my age would be kidding himself if he were to order an RS today figuring he'd have at least a couple of years to spend behind the wheel once it arrived.
"All is relative!" ;-)
