Transaxle ID

Did a search but didn't find any pictures.
Does any one have a picture of the coding on the side of the gear case that IDs what transmission it is (i.e.012,016,01E) and a picture of the gear ratio stamped on top of the bellhousing.
The pick and pull yard has some Audi transmission laying around but I'm not sure what they are.

Thanks Joe for the pictures!
I see the gearbox ratio being CXU on the bell housing.

Can any post a picture of the gear box id.

Thanks Alex for the pictures.
Real clean clear pictures!!!

"id is on left side below output drive on the underside"
I see the 1049950FRK but don't see a 01E stamping.
Is 1049950FRK a code that needs to be decipher ?

Hi Rich,

O1E is cast into the side of the black casting - see pic below. FRK identifies the ratio(s), I believe the rest of the characters before FRK are just serial numbers.

Regards,

Al

Thanks Alex,

When I looked at the pictures Joe T had in his post, it didn't have any cast numbers in that area you have circled on your housing.
So I didn't bother to look there on your pictures.
I thought it was the 1049950FRK that might have told what gear case it was.
Now I know how to ID these transmission and I hope this information helps others.

Thank again everyone.
Rich

Hi there, I have two manual`s for the old er cars 016 / 013 etc at home. Sad to say that I am up at the beach for a couple of days befor I could respond. I am running one on a Rover / Buick V8 via an adaptor plate.
Cheers
