Where do you buy your consumables when building your GT's?

Hi guys,

I am looking into the viability of setting up an easy to use website that sells consumables which would be commonly used in the construction of all types of kit cars including GT40's, so for instance items such as:

P-CLips - rubber lined and nylon
Jubilee clips
Cable Ties
Alloy tube
Assortments of nuts & bolts
Electrical connectors - all types and sizes
Bulbs
Workwear - gloves, safety goggles etc
basic hand tools - spanners, snips etc
Storage - Basic plastic containers for storage of various bits n pieces
Abrasives - commonly used angle grinder attachments etc

So my question is when you guys begin a build, and look to buy these kinds of products, where do you generally go to? Do you prefer to shop online or at a store?

Many thanks in advance.

Regards,
Mudgey

Mudgey,
I usually make up a list of needed items (guess at some too) and order the estimated quantity on-line from a big supplier such as McMaster-Carr or Pegasus Racing, etc. This done in advance. For shortages, etc. I will check out local hardware stores or building supply houses. Always impossible to come up with a complete list!

Hi Mudgey,
I used Car Builder Solutions quite a lot. All my bolts came from another online supplier and I generally get most stuff online.

I have a local engineering suppliers down the road from me in Grays, for everything else (abrasives etc) I have 2 x Toolstations and Screwfixes near me.

As Martin said I also use CBS a fair bit, and also Rally Design.
