ZF clutch release bearing and carrier

Giving up on McLeod's internal slave after mutiple failures. What clutch release bearing and carrier are needed for the ZF (RBT) external slave mechanism? Is this the same as the later Pantera parts?

Here are the parts I used for an external set up. Those prices were current about a year ago. Detaisl of install are on my build blog:

CNC 305-B Push Style Slave (7/8”) $ 60
CNC 1312 Adjusting Rod $ 20
Aurora Bearings, rod end. AW-6Z (Aircraft Spruce) $ 17
McLeod #16525 2.225” TO Bearing, <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = " border=" /><st1:City w:st="on">Summit</st1:City> Racing $152
Slave cylinder fitting, Wilwood WIL-220-6415 $ 10<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com

External. The slave cylinder we used is a CNC 7/8”, Part #305-B. The companion adjusting rod is CNC Part # 1312. To fasten t

he adjusting rod to the pivot arm, an Aurora Bearing rod end, 3/8” x 24, Part # AW-6Z was used. This part was obtained from Aircraft Spruce, a really good source for specialty parts. Finally, a throw out bearing is needed. A McLeod Pantera bearing, Part #16525 is available from <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Summit</st1:place></st1:City> and Jegs. It is a pricy part, around $150. These parts will run around $250, about half the cost of the internal HRB.

Hope this helps.

Just noticed that this web site really scrambles the formating when one cuts and pasts from another document. Fortunatly it did not scramble the contant.

If you don't have the original clutch forks and TO bearing hub carrier and arm you'll need to obatin those too, not inexpensive. Dennis Quella is a good source he used to do a lot of hydraulic throwout conversions on Panteras, so has take out parts and is knowledgeable on your possible hydraulic TO issues.

There is a TO bearing hub carrier on Ebay right now....

If your hydraulic TO is constantly failing then you may have too much throw on it, half the battle is getting the things setup correctly. A clutch peddle stop is often required to prevent overthrowing.
