Rep Power: 25 | GT40 Accident - GT40 Repair Just a quick update about the repair to my GTD.
Despite the insurance company dragging their heels (nothing new there) and causing me problems, I decided to go ahead and start the repairs.
I'd just like to use the forum to thank the people that have helped me so far.
Firstly to Frank Catt, although he has not been involved directly so far, he helped put my mind at rest that it was fixable.
To Roy Smart, an excellent job repairing my chassis, good and strong, perfectly aligned and when it's painted will be just like new.
Chris Melia, for the front clip, excellent quality.
Roy Snook, headlight/spot covers, as above.
Docking, for the rad to Roy's spec, just came five mins ago, superb.
and anybody else who's given me advice and help.
Here are some piccies.

Rep Power: 0 | Re: GT40 Accident - GT40 Repair Thanks for your comments Simon, and glad to see its all coming together. It seems you boys are keeping us busy, I have just repaired Martin Weigolds car that side swiped the tyre barriers at Lydden at 80mph on Saturday, having to repair the rear suspension and a lot of glass fibre work. He will be out at Brighton next week to try again !! Frank |

Rep Power: 25 | Re: GT40 Accident - GT40 Repair Just out of interest, I finally got a call from the insurance company today, they have at last decided to pay up....not before they knocked £2,500 off the original estimate though
Still, at least I've now got the money to get roadworthy again |

| Re: GT40 Accident - GT40 Repair Insurance Companys are a pain in the arse. I have never had
one pay up without a delay or argument, even when the other driver admitted fault. I had a roof blown off in a storm,
(as did several other houses in the street) and the company
argued that my house was structually unsound. Took me right to the Court room door before they paid up.
Anyway congratulations on starting the repairs I am sure your car will be better than ever. |

Rep Power: 25 | Re: GT40 Accident - GT40 Repair Another picture of my (slow) progress.
Front fitted and now removed, everything now stripped from car (suspension at the powdercoaters) in readyness for the paneling. If I can get it back on the road for Feb/March time, I'll be happy. I'd rather take my time and make a decent job of it than rush. |

Rep Power: 8 | Re: GT40 Accident - GT40 Repair Simon / Chris, it's interesting to note that your front clip has the same parting lines as the set of molds that I have, makes me feel better. I was getting worried about smoothing these out during production but it seems to be OK to leave them on...
