Rep Power: 5 | Giant GT What do you think people would think about a new GT that was 17" longer and 5" taller than Fords new GT with more power and handling? And lots of creature comforts and built-in luggage? Say, maybe 30' tall rubber? Traction control, ABS, and satellite uplink? |

Rep Power: 28 | Re: Giant GT This is just my personal opinion.
I like more the '60 one, more particular vehicle, more interesting in design and able to maintain his fashion also after so many many years living in replicas.
It is also wonderful and incredible for me to see all your vehicles running in today traffic as only an UFO can do, and is a great opportunity to make people to remember the history of the greatest every day car factory in the world, that build the gt40 to fight with Enzo's masterpieces.
I think gt40,cobras and Super 7 are the only really interesting replicas.
And if they are closer to original, also in colors and general appearence is even better.
Only I hope this kind of vehicles can became more and more popular going on in production, also in country as mine where almost nobody knows the Gt40
The modern Ford gt is a wonderful car, but as well as everybody knows is always too easy to reissue old glories cause people already knows this or that shape.
And the only TRUE race car ford made was this gt40, but in modern cars u have an incredibly bigger choiche.
I dunno if i will choose a Ford gt instead a F430 or a Gallardo, but i am sure i will choose a Gt40 replica if i can.
Is anyway almost impossible to compare a replica gt40 with new cars, cause is a too different type of car, only available for true car lovers as all we are here .
No way, for me a replica gt40 is too nicer.
And usually cheaper

Rep Power: 5 | Re: Giant GT Those that know our cobras know we don't do half measures . Alot of the people we see are just too big to get into any replica. It is heartbreaking to see an owner with a car in the garage that he can't use, or it is just too uncomfortable to drive. The new GT was a step in the right direction, but did not go far enough. Lets face it, most people that drive these cars are older and can't wad themselves up like they used to . But they are some of the best drivers. One of our drivers is 77 years young and running Thunderhill in 1.54 . Speck miata class runs at 2.10. No kit car has ever run there at that speed. You are not in control if you are not comfortable . We think a bigger car if done right, can look more original than the new GT and out perform it.Oh yes, the tire in the rear is 30 inches tall . We build stuff big, but not that big. Bill E |

Rep Power: 5 | Re: Giant GT I cant seem to get a link to the pitchers. I have them loaded into Kodakgallery.com Share album . I can send an invitation from there to any one who would like to see them. The 30" tall Tires may seem a bit extreme but it allowed us to lower the CG considerably. You can see from the rear pitcher that the plan of the axles is higher in the car then most. Is there a better place to post pitchers? |
