Rep Power: 8 | Available GT40's They are nothing to do with me, but there are currently two nice looking 40's advertised for sale in Oz here. (Reposition this post if you need to, Ron).
On Drive.com.au there is a GTD in Gulf colours, with air, which is getting road registered. And in Adelaide, I think, there is a registered yellow Roaring Forties which has an Audi transaxle (on Carsales.com.au I think). Both are relatively expensive (over $140,000). These cars are starting to look like a good investment, as well as a lovely "coffee table" (coded description of what you are constructing out in the shed).

I'd better hurry up and finish my RF so I can sell it and pay off my mortgage.

Pricey in any language...... | There are not as many available in Oz as in U.K./Europe, which probably keeps the price at a premium.

Rep Power: 2 | Re: Available GT40's Does anyone have any idea of how many REPLICA cars are for sale in the USA? There seems to be very few anywhere.
As I am new to this GT40 thing, I find it interesting that almost everyone likes to build their own car, rather than buy one already finished. I guess it is the satisfaction of seeing all your hard work come to fruition.
Having said that, there must be an equal number of enthusiasts, who would like to buy a Replica GT40 and drive it now, without all the hard work, maybe they are the ones who buy those new things. (Ford GT)
Just curious. |

Rep Power: 9 | Re: Available GT40's I have seen the Melbourne car in person and spoken to the owner. It is apparently a GTD that was bought in from Japan.
My personal opinion is that it is rough around the edges and well used. Not one that I would consider unless the price allowed scope for a considerable restoration budget.
I can not comment on the South OZ RF but depending on the specification the asking price may not be unrealistic. In my opinion anyway!!

Rep Power: 2 | Re: Available GT40's Hi Peter, in that case, it seems like a lot of money for that car.
What would you sell your car for, if it was for sale? |

One car that looked promising that was for sale a while back was the 'Tojeiro' car in the UK, around mid 40K GBP if I remember correctly. Needed some work in the presentation dept, but appeared to well built.

I'd say that will be some time down the track yet.

| Re: Available GT40's Peter - That's a 64 Corvette unless it's a later model with a 64 front end put on it.. A restored 64 non Fuel Injection car will go for mid-40's in USD..
I'd say your 083 is worth a good deal more than that to be sure.... |

The thought was never entertained but regardless it is interesting to know that info. It also came complete with a raspberry beret and a copy of purple rain in the tape player. That would have to count for something??
Sorry for side tracking your thread Maily. Back to normal programming now!!
