I don't know if one could count on seeing all the LeMans winners and all other race-winning GT40s "having the snot driven out of them" at Goodwood.....It would be great but I don't know if it will happen.....most of them are in museums.....The last time J-5 went to Goodwood it "traded paint" in transit and required extensive renovation.
Last year they did assemble all six Cobra Daytona Coupes at Goodwood, for the first time in history. Although they did parade laps, only one drove at speed during the weekend......CSX 2286, which is owned by R. Robson Walton. He routinely drives the car in the Monterey Historics at Laguna Seca, and a few years ago "traded paint" with the tire wall.....It is always great to see it leading the pack of 250 GTOs, just like 1965....we can hope that it will be there again this year.
Assembling all these great cars in the same place, for the viewing pleasure of the fans, is not the same as being at the tracks back in the day, but it is a unique opportunity, and a nice tribute to the great cars and the drivers who won the races.
Just my opinion,
David
