6 Speed Tranny conversion

Ian, I want to install an Audie 6 speed in my frame CAV. The shifter rod tilts upward and exits the driverside of the box. Is there any special parts or linkage required to convert fromm the standard CAV Audi 5 speed set up? Any help will be appreciated! This is a six speed unit that was built in europe a few years ago for an ex replica GT40 manufacturer

Re: 6 Speed Tranny conversion

Hi Alan,

Ok, you've got me on this one. We've only done ZFs here and developed a shifter upgrade for those applications. CAV Canadas' ZF shift mechanism is a fully articulated single rod.

For the Getrag with side shift the cable shifter setup from CAV/Autofutura should do get you going. There may even be some CAV forum members with cable shifter assemblies spare after converting to ZFs with our parts.

If there's a difference between the Getrag 016 and your unit affecting cable mounting or lever actions at the gearbox, I'd be glad to help you out there. Just have to see what we're dealing with.

Cheers
