Rep Power: 6 | I thought that setting up the Acc pedal would be easy but it turned
out a bit tricky. Fitted a universal cable kit which all worked out well in the end. I've got another DRB GT40 to work on for a friend, He's bolting it togethor, I'm basically doing the fab work. Hopefully my rad will turn up
soon. Getting hold of front brake discs at a reasonable price is proving
to be a challenge.

fitted radiator and electric water pump on the weekend.
Also plumbed rear brake and clutch bundy lines. The rad is
an Aussie desert Cooler job. Fitted thermo fan in front of
the radiator.

Just a quick and easy question. Have you rdered the body with the extra wide gulf wheel flared arches or the regular? I can't really tell from the pictures.
Cheers
JAck

I ordered the standard body. The biggest factor in my decision was that
I already had my wheels before I ordered the car as they were going on my
Cobra. They're only 10inchs wide and would look like cheese cutters under
Gulf flares.

Rep Power: 7 | Re: Chassis #64 due in July Very interesting Dave. Tell me, do you think you could get 10.5 in, or 11 inch wide wheels into the rear arches of the regular body DRB? I have an odd fascination on this subject, particularly in relation to DRB's as the extra wide body is well known to be able to handle the 12in wide wheels, but the regular body, to my untrained eye anyway, doesn't look that much less wide (well compared to an RF anyway, which is all I have alternativey seen and can compare too).
Cheers
Jack

I think you could just fit 10.5's but don't hold me to that. The 10's
look good under the rear standard arches as that is what Dennis Bedford
designed the car for. You can tune the look of the rear by changing tyres
to suit the look you want. My Rims came with 295/50/16 TA's and they looked real fat in the arch (can I say that?) but I wanted to run race rubber and had to settle for 255's as that is what is available.

With all the other cooling system components fitted now I just need
to connect up hoses and that should be the cooling system finished.

| Re: Chassis #64 due in July Hi Dave, do you work 24 hours a day on that thing? It must play havoc with your sex life?
Great progress and really looks well engineered. I have a suggestion for a shake down run once you have it registered. A run across the Nullabor to Brisvegas and the famous sausage sizzle at DRB.

and say G'day to everyone in NSW, then up to QLD for a BBQ , Hopefully
I can con a few others to drive their GT40's aswell.
Sealed up the trans tunnel pipes with Aeroflex insulation hose today
and mounted trans tunnel for the final time, thanks to Flatchat for a lovely
gearstick knob. Gearshift feels good and positive (shifter is from a Corolla).

fit perfectly in the door recesses. Just need to source some headlights now.

Spending heaps of time plumbing stuff which seems to take forever.
But I'm slowly ticking off the boxes. Finished the cooling system, just need
to add water.

Finished my Registration Exhaust system which is hopefully as quiet and
restrictive as it looks. What a waist of money and time.
