4.6L DOHC ECU QUERY...

Hi all -
I'm posting this here as it is engine related - or sort of...

I searched the forum re a previous posting relating to 4.6 DOHC OBDII engines - See it here.

Reason is - I have been looking today at another R42 - like Dave Parker's only this one is fitted with the original 4.6 DOHC engine. It has a fault where the motor runs for 3 seconds on starting and then dies. This I am convinced is caused by a security system failure.

Unfortunately, several others have 'had a go' prior to me looking at it the most recent has 'cut out' an immobiliser that he figured was causing the problem. He was right in that it was the reason for it not running, but I suspect it will need refitting as I believe the ECU 'bounces' codes to and from a chipped key.

Has anyone on the forum any experience of EEC-V setups? know where I can get wiring details? the ECU is dated 10/4/95 and has pn. F62F-12A650-JD.

Finally, any ideas on whether the keycode (PATS) system can be removed and bypassed? - if not, I guess I'll have to re-install the PATS circuit board and hook up a diagnostic link to the comm's port.

I've had a look there, lots of useful stuff and have now tracked down the person responsible for the original wiring so I am hoping for some more info there too.
