| Re: What Engine Are You Using? I plan to use a 351C 2-V block and heads....(core shift is over and done with) I'll base the engine on the old 351 HO option available in the late 60's-early 70's Boss or HO Mustangs and Cougars. Relatively low compression-reliability first. I dont even have a kit ordered yet,but I am still gonna get there. 0 |

| Ls1, Ls2, Ls6 And Ls7 Surely there should a distinction drawn between the old iron smallblock chevy and the gen111 engines? The majority of you will probably call me a heathen but the gen111 engines seem to me to be the best way to get 400 plus bhp and an aluminium block. The opportunity to save 150lbs over the rear axle is surely also worthy of some consideration! I do however have to admit that a ford smallblock with webers is pretty sexy beast. Rob the RCR40 is looking good. Last edited by milesdearden; 10-09-06 at 05:03 AM. |

| Re: What Engine Are You Using? Thanks Miles. Roaldin...sweet lookin set up. Actually, I should really share with everyone an experience that I am in the middle of regarding the induction set up I purchased from Webercarbs.com. As not to steal Ron's string I will start a new one on the subject as soon as issue is resolved with them. The story can go either way at this point.

| Re: What Engine Are You Using? Bernard - I have a couple of the RDI 302 Aluminum blocks and what is interesting is (It's been a while since they were cracked open) But I think the valley area is different on my blocks. I think mine looks more conventional 302 style, without the cross rib that yours shows. How old is your block (Allan Root Vintage)? Both of the blocks I have also has an RDI 'tattoo' on the front. I bought this bloc 4 years ago at fair price from a local racing dealer in the States. To be honest, I don't know exactly the right reference (I don't receive back from the dealer any document nor information). We can see in the front a small Ford logo (from casting) and in the starter side, the ref M-6010. However, it looks like extension of ref was milled and it is stamped 302RDI (see pictures). At the bell housing side, there is an other casting number : BBO19276 with a stamped P- below As I am not a Ford specialist, I don't know if it is an old or recent block generation but according to the dusty layer when I bought it, it was not from the last issue . Any informations are welcome . | |

First of them, I have to congatulate you for this forum spirit! It is always a pleasure to read some informations and to see some original pictures (even if I don't write too much )As you know, some race engines have to use mechanical fuel pump according to their relevant championship rules. In order to minimise the friction losses between eccentric cam and fuel pump arm, some renowned race part manufacturers (such Jesel or Crower) have provided this original cam design. My job has been to find this part to e-Bay (10$) and to adapt it because they are only provided for timing belt drive systems. Expective gain is peanuts but I love to modify everything Picture here below shows the original eccentric cam and the modified. If you want one part like that at fair price, you have to contact Scott Eatmon phone : (252) 237-2437. He is a pleasant race part dealer and you can say that your link is coming from a small french guy | |
