The majority of you will probably call me a heathen but the gen111 engines seem to me to be the best way to get 400 plus bhp and an aluminium block. The opportunity to save 150lbs over the rear axle is surely also worthy of some consideration!
I do however have to admit that a ford smallblock with webers is pretty sexy beast. Rob the RCR40 is looking good.

I have a couple of the RDI 302 Aluminum blocks and what is interesting is (It's been a while since they were cracked open) But I think the valley area is different on my blocks. I think mine looks more conventional 302 style, without the cross rib that yours shows. How old is your block (Allan Root Vintage)?
Both of the blocks I have also has an RDI 'tattoo' on the front.

351W with destrocked crank is a good way to have an high revs engine. As in Nascar configuration, you can use a 3.25 or 3.35 stroke crankshaft with long rods to produce a 330 or 340CI able to perform safely 8000rpm (without the 302 short rods problems). However, I don't understand why you propose a 302 manifold with spacers as an option?iank2112 said:I am planning on a 331 eventually, though a 351W (possibly destroked a
little) with 302 manifold and spacers might be an option.
