UK Tyre Specifications for BF Goodrich

My car failed SVA

The tyres were snagged as not having the correct current markings for the UK /EC

They have all sorts of marking but not the necessary EC markings
They are Fronts
BF GOODRICH COMP TA
215/60VR15
Max Load 1410lbs at 36psi
P855-AC
E23433-4
61671-1

Rears
BF GOODRICH COMP TA
255/60VR15
Max load 1890lbs at 36psi
P855-AC
E2335-3
A-61674-1
Can anyone point me to a site or specialist that can confirm what these marks mean / cross reference to on the new system

thanks
Ian

Ian, The Tirerack has a good collection of technical articles on this page; IIRC they have an article on tire marking: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/tiretech.jsp

Unhappy

Ian,

Oh boy, that must have got under your skin. These things are definitely sent to try us. Mind you it's a point I had not thought of myself. That's the good thing about this forum, we can learn from each other.

Ian

You have the wrong tyres.

VRs are not E marked. Its one of the first things SVA look at.

HRs are E marked.

Thanks

Andy

Hi Ian,
I have found the Car Bibles invaluable, the section on tyres particularly.
This is more European based and covers thinks like e references.
BTW I thought those tyres had passed SVA once?!

Cheers
