| Driving lights - spot lights Hi all,
I currently have turn indicators in the lower section of the front clip.
I am considering moving them out onto the guard/fender.
I would like to add driving lights in the lower section.
I have looked in a number of speed and accessory shops and found driving lights that are grill or bumper mounts with large bolts out of the bottom.
These are bracket mounted but do not appear to be suitable to be fitted into the body/fibre glass.
Has anyone used this type of driving light or has a lead or link.
Thanks in anticipation....
Bernie

| Re: Driving lights - spot lights Bernie have you looked at the hella site. The 10-30 12v looks to do the job. They also make a mount for it (9.1029.09 - Supporting frame) as a bonus it has a park light in it. Hella Catalogue

| Re: Driving lights - spot lights The Dodge Ram uses a 5" driving light and has for years. Should be able to source cheaply.

| Re: Driving lights - spot lights Hey Bernie!
It's been a while, hope you're doing well.
I got my spots here: SVC - Specialists in Lights, Switches, Looms, Mirrors, Fans and Seatbelts
Very pleasant to deal with, told him what I was doing and wanted and he got the parts together for me. Not exactly cheap but they are exactly what I wanted: Other pics

| Re: Driving lights - spot lights Bernie:
I set up my driving lights with the 5" lamp size Ian mentioned. The BMW units would work fine, I used a set of flat headlight mounts from a Ford Fairlane...saw them at a boneyard and I realized I could shear them to size and mount them in fiberglass panels behind the lower spot lamp panel. They came complete with the bowl to accept the lamp, the springs and the adjuster screws with those binding plastic nutserts to maintain the aimed position, $10 later and some cutting and glassing and I had my mounts. I plan on using a pair of 5", 100 watt lamps for some serious light output. I think 150 watt units are also available but have a limited lamp life.
Cheers
Phil

| Re: Driving lights - spot lights Bernie it may be usefull to note that the Hella lamp is 90mm in diameter which may give you enough room for a turn indicator

Chris,
Good to hear from you. Yes sold off the Cobra and got into a GT40.
Hersh is now resident in Texas and busily house building....
Just doing a re build on the interior, engine and an over all tidy up on the GT 40.
I'll place the turn signal on the guard/fender if I cannot fit them next to the driving light.
I have a few good leads here.

Darrell,
Yes looking at the 'Hella' site now.
The surround makes it a simple fit. I'll get into my 'Hella' dealer tomorrow or contact them direct.
Thanks
Bernie
