More Titanium for A11GTD -

Hi all

Not content with using it in his engine, club Chairman Roy Smart has just had his left knee replaced, with a titanium item to match the one in his right leg.

I'm sure we all wish him a speedy recovery and no doubt he will be putting it to good use later this season.

Question is, which is lighter? titanium or bone? - perhaps Mike can shed some light on whether Roy's latest 'weight modifications' will be in or against his favour.

It's unlikely to be titanium, as it leeches out into the tissues and can set up troublesome reactions. Almost certainly a cobalt chrome compound, with a nylon-like plastic bearing insert. A significant net weight increase!
Best wishes to Roy for a speedy recovery.

That could explain the heavy throttle foot! All the best Roy.

So cruel Mike.. you know better than to tell Roy it'll be heavier ..he'll just go get his power drill out and start drilling lightening holes into it now!!! We could end up being able to strain tea-leaves through his knees!!

Hi Roy Hope you are recovering well, was your op private titanium or n.h.s titanium as i could use some lightning mods also and the cheaper the better.
