Perhaps they've just increased the reserve!

Re: Ford must be stamping on these dealers (????)

After about 30 minutes of digging through Ebay rules, I think I know what is happening to the auctions.

Ebay doesn't make it easy to read their rules, they scatter them all over, but this one looks like the one that is shutting down the auctions: http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/pre-sale.html

Ebay prohibits "Pre-sale Listings," those that advertise the sale of items that are not in the control or possession of the seller at the time of the listing."

The exception is if the seller seller guarantees that the item will be available for shipping within 30 days from the close of the auction.

It doesn;t look like a vehicle can be offered on ebay before it is at least bucked.

Exactly. Why would someone pay $50K (or whatever) over sticker when they might not see their car for a year?

A about a year ago, I informed one of the guys over in the Ford GT development team of a similar sale. They had on the of the marketing people put a stop to the auction. So, as far as I know, they are stomping those whom look to profit of the rights to buy. I agree with that decision.

DOH!

i don't know who's stupider - the guys listing this thing or the idiots bidding on it.

hopefully all the bids are scam artists messing with the lister.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2463016461

it's up to $90K now - this is the AMOUNT OVER MSRP they're willing to pay. of course that text is in rather small type and is below all the cool pictures, etc. so i think we can safely assume this auction isn't going anywhere fast.

but it's good for entertainment value!!!!

doody.

EDIT

and here's another one! another zero-feedback seller. same structure as the other one. same starting bid ($6K). went up this morning.
