Rep Power: 58 | Jaguar XJ13 Replicas... Who is in the business of making XJ13 replicas? By that, I mean a company that is (read that present tense, active) producing them right now - not "we will produce one when you send a check for $500,000". I am curious about the car and wish to know more regarding technical details of the replica and pricing. I've been looking at V12 engines and they are not that hard to get nor are they horribly expensive although I did notice in some cases it is cheaper to purchase the entire car rather than just the engine.

Rich Dommers, of The Sportscar Factory, in Maryland, has
recently purchased all moulds, tooling, etc. to build an XJ13 replica, from Denis Bedford (ex-DRB owner). There was mention of this in an earlier thread.
I'm not sure when chassis/cars will be available.
From Denis' photos of his XJ13 build up(chassis building, plug building, etc.), it looks to be a very well built car!
If I remember correctly, Denis' price was very reasonable.
Are you already looking for your next project?

Rep Power: 9 | Re: Jaguar XJ13 Replicas... Ron, the XJ13 is my other favourite car. Years ago I waited for hours after a show had finished to hear and see the real one driven onto a trailer It was worth it
Before I decided on a GT40 I considered an XJ13 replica, there were a couple for sale in the £60k to £80k bracket. The replica Jaguar specialist over here who can build one is Proteus. There is still one advertised for sale on their website, they say they will supply one in kit form, but when I telephoned to ask, they said they would not, but will supply a turnkey car. Proteus cars XJ13 replica
Here is a pic from that day at the show more than 20yrs ago;

That's the next car for me.
I will need to get us a bigger house first, before I sell the idea to the boss indoors. |

Speaking of that "road", does anybody have any ideas where they filmed those segments?

Thank you for pointing out that The Sports Car Factory has an XJ13 replica kit (body chassis unit) coming soon.
Ron & all, The Sports Car Faactory web site has some details on the offering. However, if anyone needs more info. please feel free to call or e-mail me. The molds are currently at Denis' facilities in Australia, and are scheduled for delivery to SCF in June '04.
Best Regards,

Rep Power: 25 | Re: Jaguar XJ13 Replicas... I know of a set of XJ13 moulds in the UK.There was a chassis being built, but I don't think it was ever finished.
I'm not sure of the size of market over here and Europe for the XJ13.
However there is somebody producing bellhousings to mate the V12 engine with a Renault box.

I don't think there will be many of those 6 X 2 Weber manifolds about on ebay do you ? |

Rep Power: 58 | Re: Jaguar XJ13 Replicas... I just found a company list night that produces bellhousing to mate to T5, T56, or Porsche units. Found it searching for XJS motor information, it appears the five speed swap is popular for XJS owners and these housings can be adapted for transaxle use.

They don't do a kit to my knowledge, but they can certainly build an XJ13 for you. They are a little over an hour north on me and do amazing work.
Cheers, Brian. |

On a recent episode of Dream Car Garage, they visited Vintage Motors in Sarasota Florida who handles Tempero Car replicas. Not sure they offer a kit....but maybe fun to see the car in person.

I would be interested in getting the name/kink to the company you came across that produces the bell-housing that mates to T5, T56, or Porsche TA units.
Also, as some others have pointed out, there are a few companies that produce very close (virtually exact) replicas of the XJ13, one located in the U.K. and at least two in the U.S. During my search for an XJ13 replica, I did not come across any XJ13 kit offerings, hence my recent venture to produce such a kit.
I’m planning on adding a GT40 to my list of personal projects sometime in the future. I posted a photo and video clip (3.3 megs) of my ride in Peter Ransom’s GT40 while visiting GT40 Australia . I got hooked!
Best Regards
