The India labour market is also a very trendy (read cheap) thing for companies here in the UK. If you get a call from your bank or report your washer and dryer broken it'll probably be someone in Bombay on the phone that deals with it.

| Re: F1 is boring me to death!!!! My spin on recent events in the saga of the Banks V Ecclestone (with his incredibly tall very fit looking wife)
otherwise known as Bambino Holdings of Jersey is that the Banks will try to get into bed with the breakaway organisation called the GPWC. Incidently, there is a move afoot by the various circuits and the GPWC to start talking about possible dates in the future - dates for events after the current Concorde agreement expires- when the GPWC could conceivably run their own 'similar to F1' championship.
Who comprises the GPWC: Renault, Mercedes, BMW, and Ferrari.
Stranger things have happened - who'd have thought that the teams would accept a 19 race calendar this year? Not me, but they have. Money makes the world go round.
The A1GP has adopted am altogether different and very intersting approach for their inaugaral series next winter and it may provide armchair warriors with a much better spectacle than Schumaker changing his wheels, Sato fiddling with his Visor, and incessant adverts always timed and construed to mask whatever little action and overtaking takes place in the current F1.
Has anybody downloaded the new regulations for 2005? Some are very interesting. Let's see if they improve the spectacle or not as the case may be IMHO.
The real fun will be watching the Babino's squirm but they (Ecclestone and the tall one) always manage to surface again smelling of roses.

Rep Power: 13 | Re: F1 is boring me to death!!!! David, it sounds like the 2.8 liter V8 is going to happen for 2006. BMW was very vocal being aginst it, but looks like now they will accept. What rumors abound given a new engine formula for 2006 and 2007 with the end of the Concorde Agreement and the possible new series?
Just curious! |

| Re: F1 is boring me to death!!!! Pat,
IMHO it could go either way after the Concorde agreement expires. What sane person would ever have iamgined that F1 audiences would decline in such dramatic fashion over the last 4 years and why is that ? Is it Shumaker's incredibly boring persona? is it the car's specifications? is it the sanitized circuits? is the qualifying satisfactory?
The new rules with the changed aero package, tyres, and engines are going to lead to some interesting 'cheating' because I don't think there has ever been a rule that hasn't been circumvented by the teams. They are good at it and they employ specialists and lawyers to do just that. After Concorde ? I would like to see the 4 Banks doing some sort of deal with the GPWC and leaving Bambino (That's Ecclestone and his very tall wife) which would then include FOH, FOM, and FOA being without any thing to Hold , Manage or Administer. If we get through 2005 and the GPWC increases, rather than diminishes, in strength, then, again IMHO, it's game on for a big shake up and change.
The V8 will only change things for a short period after which the aerodynamicists will claw the deficit back again and I don't think the engines will sound that much different to the current ones. What might be more interesting is who will maintain the start advantage and further more control the tyres for the entire race on a machine with considerably less wing effect and which is considerably more twitchy when cornering. I think I have a clue about the starting but I also know it will all come out in the wash in Melbourne. Rumours - Flavio has stated that Renault will be a major front runner in an interview in the Italian press - apart from that not much else going down at the moment in the run up to the holiday period.

[/ QUOTE ]
Acording to the local media, that comment was forced upon him by the Renault board of directors. Having made some significant changes to the board, Renault seem to be significantly less enthusiastic and much less tolerant of a team that is less than the best. According to the press, Flavio has been given an ultimatum. Win the championship or close shop. |

| Re: F1 is boring me to death!!!! Big Ron (Dennis) of McLaren is (now resident in Switzerland) is probably IMHO going to be the President or Chairman of the GPWC in 2005. Should be a reasonably interesting development as he's quite a dynamic mover behind the scenes as well as in front. |

Rep Power: 14 | Re: F1 is boring me to death!!!! The Ferraris are in a class of their own... literately. While every other team has signed an agreement to limit testing, Ferrari has refused to sign and are testing as much as they like. The other teams were hoping to embarrass Ferrari into signing but it all seems to have all gone pear-shaped now. Toyota are now making noises that sound suspiciously like they are about to drop out of the agreement soon too.
This aint true sportsmanship and I currently refuse to be a fan of anything Ferrari until they start playing by the rules again. In the meantime, I am enjoying the real race that doesn’t involve those red cars. |
