| Jim Cark - revival meeting Jim Clark - Revival April 26 th –30 th 2007
A Race Week of thousand and more Classic Cars
World Record attempt and JCR-Tourist Tour in the Region
The German automobile club scene is buzzing with anticipation; as the third Jim Clark-Revival is
taking place at the German Formula One Circuit, Hockenheimring, from 26th to 30th April. The
highlight of the event will be the world record attempt for the largest parade of classic cars in order
to achieve an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records on Saturday 28th April.
More than one thousand classics built prior to 1977 are required for this world record attempt on
Saturday evening from 7 to turn the world famous Motodrom of Baden-Württemberg into the most
sensational rolling automobile museum of the world.
From the chrome sparkling American V8’s, the English, German or Italian rakish looking sports
cars, to the extremely rare ‘bread and butter cars’ to the Goliath tricycles and historic fire brigade
vehicles – all these technical cultural assets will be represented in this unrivalled convergence.
Several leading classic and automobile clubs have already registered for both the club gathering,
behind the Mercedes grand stand, and for the world record attempt – Ferrari, Caterham, Capri,
Escort, Jaguar, De Lorean, Pantera, Viper, Borgward, BMW, and more than 500 participants to be
expected from Lotus, to name but a few.
Individuals without club membership can of course register as well for the participation in the
Guinness world record attempt and the club meeting.
In order to be able to cope with the overwhelming organisational task, the organisation urgently
asks all interested parties to register with the JCR – Organisation Office in Schlangenbad by April
20th 2007. The contact details and the various registration forms can be found on the website www.jimclark-revival.com in the sections ‘Contact’, ‘Automobile Clubs’ and ‘Guinness World
Records’. Last-minute participants for the world record attempt can still register the day itself, April
28th,from 11 a.m. onwards at the office marked ‘Dokumentausgabe’. The office is to be found at
Car Park P2.
Please remember to bring along a copy of your car registration papers (proof of construction year)
and a photograph of your ‘rolling treasure’. Unfortunately, the organisation team cannot
guarantee participation in the world record attempt for registrations after 3 p.m. All registered cars/drivers will be allowed to drive into the Hockenheimring without an admission ticket from 4p.m. onwards.
On the Record-Saturday, part of the programme starting at midday is the ‘Jim Clark Tourist Tour’,
a guided visit with several checkpoints along the route commencing at 1 p.m. the tour will lead
from the Formula 1 race track through the region, to the historic city centre of Ladenburg and past
the castles of Heidelberg and Schwetzingen. The participation of classic cars is highly desired but also racy, ‘modern classics’ are more than welcome. The finish will be around 4 p.m. at the market
square of Hockenheim where the participants will be welcomed by the Lord Mayor.
For more information about the extensive supporting programme of the JCR, the sales and trading areas on the pit roof and the club meeting area, the sponsors and advertising concepts, VIP-Tickets and many more, please visit the website of the Jim Clark-Revival.
Short notice or what?
