| Re: F1 2007 Fernando blames the traffic? So no one else has problems with traffic in a Formula 1 race? FERNANDO ALONSO
"Second was the maximum we could really do today. We decided to change the strategy during the race to a shorter fuel stop for the middle stint, hoping we would be able to maintain the lead after the second stop. Unfortunately we did not build enough of a gap to Ferrari during this period, and Kimi’s six laps with less fuel were too much to overcome. It was a gamble but definitely the right thing to do. I had a few problems with traffic, and we didn’t quite have the pace of Ferrari, so it didn’t pay off. The points are very important for the Championship, and we will work very hard at the test next week, in Spa-Francorchamps, to regain our advantage."

| Re: F1 2007 Hi Wanni,
Save everything. I am coming to Imola to visit my friends and Bologna to visit Ducati just before the grand prix in Monza.
I also want some secrets.....
I am about to buy an ice cream machine - what is the best in Italy for home use, as I can pick it up along with my annual purchase of vino from Castle Bolognese ? |

Seriously though, 9 races, 9 podiums. Great record but time to show his stones cos the Ferrari's have got schum....er....Kimi on form with a good car under him. I'd be surprised if Kimi doesnt win the world title IF the car holds form.

| Re: F1 2007 It's green tea ice cream - sort of almost narcotic.
Anyway, normal service was resumed at Silverstone last week and I'm back on the road to the Nurbugring next week. Just had a request to do the 24hr in Spa the subsequent weekend from Bartels running Maserati MC12, though I'd promised me, personally, a short break in Styrische Austria prior to Budapest. I think Austria may just prevail as 3 races in 3 weekends is a punishing routine let alone the mileage involved.
Button - John : great guy
Button - Jenson : Gobshite. Yesterdays man. No hoper. Speaks highly of me. |

.....We spoke of him as 'Coulthard the second' (nearly but not quite), but since he's won just about nothing we now refer to him as 'Coulthard wannabe' ......
It's a shame we don't see the drivers in exact spec cars, so driving skill truly shows through....I'd like to see Coulthard, Button, Davidson and Hamilton get it on on a nice challenging track and see who really excels, then front the winner up against Mansell and M.Schumacher etc. Lets face it, the sport is now (IMO) more about the car than the driver. Even the strategy and pitstops count as much as the driver to a point.
Would Hamilton have the 9-straight-podium record he has now if he started off in a Spyker, Red Bull, Honda or Williams? I Think not.

Your are spot on. He would be sucking the hind tit, like most of the rest.
It's all manufactured hype but it really sold a lot of Union Flags and stupid tee shirts last weekend. |

| Re: F1 2007 Thursday, 12 July 2007 The relationship between Indianapolis Motor Speedway and F1 came to an end today when Tony George and Bernie Ecclestone could not reach an agreement on the sanctioning fee to continue hosting the USA GP at the brickyard.
Ron Green, spokesman for the track, said both parties were leaving the door open for possible future events.
This leaves the USA without a F1 Grand Prix in the future as other attempts have failed to host the event at venues such as Long Beach, Watkins Glen and Phoenix.
Ecclestone has looked into running a race in Las Vegas, but no agreement has been announced. |

| Re: F1 2007 What would any future F1 Grand Prix race be called in the USA if Bernie Ecclestone were to find another venue to host a race? Is the only other obvious alternative to call it the USA Grand Prix?
Would Tony George allow the use of the term 'U.S. Grand Prix' for any race in the states?
