Jimmy,

I had forgotten about Roman Holiday, great flick. It was Audry Hepburns first movie. Gregory Peck told the producers to put Ms Hepburns name above the title...........

The producer said that nobody knows her, its her first movie, we cant put her name above the title.

Mr Peck said "she will win the Acadamy Award and I'll look like a jerk".

They put her name above the title and she won the award!

Speaking of Ms Hepburn.....
***Wait Until Dark***, one of the all time scarry movies!

Princess Bride ("Inconceivable!", "I'm not sure you understand the meaning of the word")
Godfather
Open Range -Duval plays it very well
The Cowboys -Bruce Dern is great as the bad guy
The Shootist -John Wayne hangs 'em up the hard way
Cannonball Run -movie sucks but Jack Elam is worth the watch just for his hypodermic injection scene!
Stripes -"BLOWED UP SIR!!!!"
The Great Escape -Steve McCool
The Road to Perdition -although the graphic novel is better...
Cool Hand Luke -Paul Newman singing "Plastic Jesus"

If I had to pick my favor movie of all time, I would have to say Dr Strangelove.

Stanley Kubrik's masterpiece.

I had not seen it for probably 20 years, a few years back a friend was visiting and he had not seen it. So we pulled out the old VHS tape.....

Fabulous!

It was even better now, great "Black Comedy".

Whenever folks do the "Top 10 Movies of all time" the doctor does well, often wins.

You guys need to watch this one.

I'm a movie lover and could go on for days here - but here are some of the usual suspects;

The secret life of Walter Mitty (1947 Danny Kaye)
Failsafe (1964 Henry Fonda)
The Flight of the Phoenix (1965 Jimmy Stewart)
The Blue Max (1965 George Peppard)
Lemans - (while not a great story - the cars, sounds and action are very moving)
Grand Prix - (see above)
2001 A Space Odyssey
Superman the movie (Chris Reeves 1st)
Star Trek the movie
Days of Thunder (based in fact - great camera work - stolen story line)
Top Gun (Action second to none - Story line re-cycled in DOT above)
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
Cocoon (Ron Howard film)
Batteries Not Included
Bullit
The Great Escape
Cool Hand Luke
The Lively Set (has Chrysler turbine car in it)

I love lots of the above.
I also really enjoyed the old "A Man and a Woman", which has a GT40 in it, but irrespective of that I enjoy the evocative music, the atmosphere, etc. Memorable.

Also like lots of the above,

Lawrence of Arabia

Doc just the first few minutes for the Brough Superior but then I'm biased.

Favorite film of all time, watch it every Christmas Eve

It's a Wonderful Life - (because we need more George Bailey's he reminds me of my Dad)

"Remember George no Man is a failure who has friends"
