After 42 Years, Man Finds Car Stolen From Philly

Great story. One question though. I would have thought that after the theft in 1970, the owner would have filed an insurance claim and been paid out for the car loss? therefore, would the car when found, not belong to that insurance company and not the original owner?

The article says he was too poor as a student to insure it - back in the days when insurance wasn't mandatory...

I can't see that statement Bill? But obviously, if insurance wasn't mandatory, then perhaps he was not insured.

Mark,

Near the bottom of the story... "They both were graduate students at Temple University when they met -- and went on their first two dates in the car, which Russell was too cash-strapped to insure"

Regards,
Bill

Blow me over Bill. I must have read and re-read that 5 times and still couldn't see it! Thanks for that. I now know I am losing the plot! ;) Up until now it was just a suspicion. :)
