What a great day at Elkhart. Ran John Deuels car around in the Touring deal. The thing is incredible. The car ran and handled fantastic. spent most of the session chasing a Tasca Ford. What day.
There were some real special cars on hand too. The F 5000 show is going to be terrific. I got to see Danny Ongais' Interscope Lola run again after 33 years and it was on song just like the day. I have to say that's the first time Ive seen a 5000 car run like they used to. The Shadows were spectacular too. Here's a little teaser.
Re: Elkhart Lake Vintage Event - Lola feature Marque
Chris,
One of the cars we love to watch out here in the Pacific Northwest is a sweet little F5000 driven by Paul Hoey out of Olympia, WA. Talking with Paul over the July 4th weekend at the Historics event in Seattle, we talked about his plans to be at RA this weekend. He was really looking forward to being there!
He's more than proven himself as a capable driver in our neck of the woods; I wouldn't be at all surprised if he's running up front this weekend as well. Sure wish I could be there with you to take in the fun, brats, and a little racing... DO post some more pics!

Here's some pictures of the Active Power GT Reproductions floating display. There was a pack around this car almost the entire time.
What a great weekend.

Got a couple of shots from a photographer at Elkhart. I'll tell ya, I'd been racing all my life up until? let me see how old is my Daughter? 13 years ago and was actually OK with it but oh no it's to late, I'm bit again. I did the Track Touring deal at the Vintage weekend and couldn't believe how they just let you go. There was traffic but you could pass and really go as fast as you wanted. I went as fast as I wanted. It was awesome.

That's what I'm talkin about.
Thanks Nick. Unbelievable. Those cars were unbelievable. I have to say that event was the best 5000 show I've seen since the day. There were a couple cars really spooled up. There's something about an injected V8 shifting up through the gears, copping revs like a dirt bike.
