If you are planning to use this "early" 289 block, Please make sure that you read the part about it being a "5 bolt bell housing" - late model 289's and all 302's are 6 bolt bell housings!! It would require a different bolt pattern on your adapter plates!! (and I believe a different timing cover as well).
