Sum of the Parts

Ok so perhaps I should put the flameproofs on before I post this.

With all the talk of MSRP plus that has gone on before is it not possible to get a true value of the vehicle using a "Sum of the Parts"? After all when cars reach the other end of the useful life the breakers realise more for the parts than the whole.

So if Ford is putting a new car on the market does it have a full parts backup for any oops? If so can anyone get hold of a price list? How much to build up a car from the parts? OK it would have to be called a replica as it was not manufactured by Ford. That said most of us on this forum are either in a replica, looking to build or actively building one.

So now off to flameproof my computer - more comfortable than wearing a flameproof suit for the next few days!

Knowing the typical List Price for OEM replacement parts,
the sum of the GT's parts will probably be $ 300k or more.
Well maybe not...but guaranteed to be more than the MSRP.

You may be able to buy all the body panels someday...
but I suspect you'll never be able to buy a frame.
But if someone will let you copy theirs...
