A friend of a friend is looking for a set of GT-40 iron heads for a 302. He lives in the Atlanta, Georgia USA area. Are there any available and what are they worth? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif Joseph

Suggest he looks at ebay "Ford 302" and you will find plenty of them , new and second hands.

They are plentiful in Atlanta. They were available on production cars as well as thru the FRPP parts counter. They have the 65.5cc chambers and 1.84" intakes.
Value? $500/pair in good condition

If a pair of used GT40 iron heads is $500, why not spend about 200 more and get a set of new aluminum Gt40 Y heads? Save A LOT of weight and make more power for basically no extra cost (since these are new vs. used)?

In some some racing groups they require you to run the production parts of the era. He may be restoring the car to original specs? Otherwise, I agree 100%.
