In my latest copy of Popular Hot Rodding (April 2005), there is a very good article on bumpsteer. They talk about the problems encountered when using a R&P from one type of car and using it on a different car (i.e. Mustang R&P on Cobras). I don't have enough knowledge about the R&P's used in GT40 replicas. However, they provided some links to companies that make custom R&P's in almost any length, and with turning ratios as low as 1.8 turns lock-to-lock.
