That is a beast you do not want. Very few parts for them and they give them away at Ford shops here. On the other hand, I did see a "Budget Build Up" series on how to make horsepower on the cheap. A 400M was picked because they are free and if you can home port them yourself you can get a 300hp and 450+ ft/lb torque lump that doesn't want to rev beyond 4500-5000 RPM, but it is cheap. Of course, a cam would help out but that went over the budget!

If I'm not mistaken it looks like M block is later version of 351 Cleveland that we got here, definitely not to be confused with 351 windsor.

I assume they also had a taller deck height than windsor, same as old Cleveland's.

If I could find that article I could check, but I think your are right Craig. Odd motors and really heavy if I'm not mistaken, iron everything! But, they are plentiful and can be made to wail if you want to put some money in them in the way of heads and cam.
