You will need some specialized tools. you need something to pull the gears and bearings from the main and [inion shafts. The factory tool is a gear puller with interchangeable arms. The arms are different lengths. I use a hydraulic press. You will need a bearing splitter to remove the pinion gear end bearing and the diff bearings. Again, I use a press, but the puller can be used for ths also. You will also need a puller to remove the bearing cups for the diff bearings and for the pinion bearings. The tool looks like a pilot bearing puller, but is larger. Other than that, you just need assorted hand tools.
