I have new 130 amp 3G Ford alternators with Ford plug pigtail. We use them in GT40 and "Cobras" as they fit where any "old type" Ford Alternator works. Theses are internal regulator units. $245.000 for the steup.

I have the Powermaster starter in my 427 side-oiler in my Cobra and it works great. I'd never install a reman old-school big, heavy, stock starter.

Since then, I've had terrific luck with starters from DB Electrical. They are all over E-bay and have their own internet store, and a toll-free phone number.

DB Electrical Starter-Alternator

They don't list a specific part number for the FE motor, but I'd give them a call; chances are they carry one. FWIW I have a mini-starter from Pantera Performance Center on my 351C that cost over $150, and the DB starter is *identical* in every respect, and costs under $50.

Mark,

Couldn't figure how to add pics to response to your PM so am posting here.

Damper is a BHJ, H20 pulley is a 6" "custom" but, Olthoff should be able to supply the pulley as well as the belt tensioning set up shown in pics below.

How are you coming along? Eager to see some pics as you progress.
