"Other" mysterious brown cable

OK, so this would appear to be a ground cable.

As I have a much more heafty braided cable to ground the engine/transaxle to the chassis, and have grounded everything else out the wazoo, I doubt I need it.

I'm curious, none the less.

Anyone know where SPF intended this one to be used, or where their installer used it?

ps, Obviously I've already read the "other" mysterious brown cable thread, so those of you with snide comments can save them for someone else.:laugh:

I never figured that one out either, and didn't use it, and my car's fully wired. All I could think of was a module they wanted to make sure was solidly grounded, perhaps the EFI (but then that's kinda what the other one was for). I look forward to hearing from anyone who's SPF uses it. And since I raised the original "mystery brown wire" question I look forward to more verbal abuse for asking.

separate ground for an alternator perhaps??

maybe bat neg term to chassis ground.
lots of cars run a smaller as well as the main earth cable
