Front dress

someone supplied pics of the front covers that they were going to use with a short water pump, could someone enlighten me as to what topic they are under and also what is with the reverse direction water pumps???
Thanks for the help

Hello,
Not too sure about the post re covers but the 'reverse direction' pump you mention is probably a 'late' version where the pump is driven from a serpentine belt arrangement. In this instance, the pump is turned by the flat 'backside' of the belt and hence runs in reverse to the normal direction pump that is driven by the usual vee-belt.

Hope that makes sense.

That post was in the Roaring Forties factory support forum. It was posted under the subject "Front cover and dress for serpentine" about a month ago.

Pauls explanation of the reverse direction water pump made sense to me so I'll leave that one for now except to add that I think the Gallery section of the Roaring Forties web site www.roaringforties.com.au has pictures of the engines with V-belt and serpentine setups.
