Questions on SPF GT40 Options List

I just got a new options list from my dealer. Some of the items I've either never seen before or thought came with the price of the car. Can someone help me with the $1,650.00 ZF install kit and the $595.00 Painted Chassis. The rest of the list I posted in another thread. Don't both of these come as part of the "Standard" package, or didn't they?

ZF instal -427- Compressor Mnts- eng.& tans. mnts-alternator $1,650.00
Mnts- gearbox cross member- exhaust kits silencer, cradle and
collectors.

Painted chassis. $ 595.00

Re: Questions on SPF GT40 Options List

I had to pay Olthoff for the engine and trans install kit parts....around the same amount. The exhaust bits were part of the package from Superformance.

The chassis came painted...not sure what that one means.

Here is what Olthoff sells for around 2,000...

Re: Questions on SPF GT40 Options List

Mike, thanks for the info. Because I'm doing my own install I thought I could keep the price under $100k now I'm not sure. The only thing I see on your list that might be in the $1650.00 option is the motor mounts. Looks like I will have to source all the parts on your list to. Looks like I may have to get some of it from Olthoff. I wonder if he’ll sell the stuff to me if I’m not his customer? It is a great list and helps give me a better understanding of parts that don’t come with the car. So I’m still not sure if I need the option. I'm sure I need the parts it's just that I thought this stuff came with the car. I have an E-mail into Deborah at Superformance and my dealer. Hopefully they can also shed some light on the “Painted Chassis” thing. I live in the NW so is there any chance I can come for a visit? I’d like to meet you and see your car. It would really help to see a running car. Another thing I asked my dealer for is a few pictures taken each day during the build. I told them I'd pay a few hundred buck for them. Even though it would be nice I don't need them in real time. Maybe we could get them to install a WEBcam.

Re: Questions on SPF GT40 Options List

Guess I didn't have to ask. Deborah just got back to me. Your list will certainly come in handy. Just more info to add to the list. This is what she wrote.

"You would select the ZF option on the order so that the factory will supply you with the correct transaxle mounting.

If you select a 427 FE as your install option, there is an up charge for this selection.

Painted black chassis is standard but if you want the chassis painted in any color there will be an additional charge.

There is also an up charge if you select a non standard black painted chassis."

Thanks
Deborah

Re: Questions on SPF GT40 Options List

I keep my car in Medford Oregon airport hangar. You can see it any time I am in the area. I get there for 1 to 2 weeks a month...

I might head up to Portland Intl Raceway ometime this summer. That would be the farthest north I go for the forseeable future.

Regards,
Mike
