removing the inner door shelf

how do you remove the inner door insert on the drivers side? I want to start dynamatting and insulating the doors and the drivers side has the AC controls that do not seem to want to come out easily. Also, can the door be adjusted from the front hinge/ mount side at all? or is the only adjustment in the door striker on the body

The driver's side inner door panel is harder to remove than the passenger side, but achievable. Basically you have to get some slack on the wiring harness into the door. Do not try to remove the A/C controls from the panel assembly. Remove the nose. This will also allow you to make adjustments on the front hinges. There are a total of 6 bolts for the two hinges. Feed some slack with the wiring into the door. I did not disconnect the panel wiring but was able to hang the panel out of the door.
