Simon, re your PM, here is the picture I referred to. It was the Top Gear film crew who spent a day with 1088 plus a group of GTDs. Don't remember a Mk3 car being there though. Is one of these guys you? We ended up with an 8 minute segment on Top Gear Gti which I beleive was for overseas audiences and not UK. I have it on tape somewhere, wonder if it could be converted to digital and, ahem, posted?

Not me, when I was at Chobham, 1088 was freshly built and according to Brian Wingfield was fitted with a "mule" engine for shake down purposes. The full story has been misplaced, and all I have is a few seconds which is now on youtube here...YouTube - GT40 test track
