  • Wallis: I usually do not spend time on GT40s.com so I'm sorry to have missed your message last February. If you'd like to discuss the Walther GT40 find feel free to call me at 248-310-6848. You may remember me, my GT40 was Camillo Pardo's design guide vehicle for the Ford GT. We talked some while you were writing your Ford GT book. James Giovanni
I read your post on 1005 the Walther car. I have a couple of questions as I was going to use this car as an example of a great find but now I have doubts about it. One question is, what brand chassis was it combined with, Safir 1127? is there a Safir owner's club register that reflects that merging of the chassis? I wonder why Jerry Heasley didn't mention the chassis change in his book RARE FINDS. Also there was some mention of the sum $500,000. Is that what the owner combining the two chassis had to pay to buy the Safir chassis and effect the change? Also did the car have a body on it when found in the mud? Are you a GT40 owner or historian? Might be best to reply to my e-mail at [email protected] as I sometimes forget I have messages on a forum. Cheers
