muzzab - Murray

Spooky or what? My Mothers maiden name was Murray, and I am half Scottish from her side. I did visit Australia and New Zealand a long time ago (in the 60's) It seems my nickname took off for anyone named Murray in the Navy, most became Muzz, whether they liked it or not.!! Small world aint it?

Jesus how scary is this? Royal Australian Navy 1969 - 1979, nickname Muz which is the Australian way of shortening Murray. My last name is Bain and as someone had already taken the nick Muz I just added the B on the end. Notice the fine scottish name of Bain! And we both love GT40's

Hi Murray, just noticed your post and name. My first name is Murray too. My nickname whilst in the Royal Navy from about 1969/70 was Muzz. Made up by one of my oppo's out of Muzztapha ( I always used to say, "must have a fag" or "must have a drink", etc.) I presume your nickname is Muzzab?
