As far as I can tell, most of the items are disconnected. The AC compressor is a bit in the way...it is tight in that corner.
Other than that, I just lack the the equipment and help to pull it (and the rear shell) and the space to store the rear shell and to work on the motor. I I have the car...
From Olthoff just now:
"Loosen the vertical bolts going into the block. About 3/8"
Loosen the 2 long bolts through the mount. Leave them in.
Lift the motor 1/2" and the mounts will rotate enough for the pan to fit through.
You can use a jack with a 2x4 on the crankshaft damper to lift
Hope...
At this point I am wondering if there are engine mounts that don't intrude as much into the oil pan area.
Also, is it possible to raise the engine enough to swap out the mounts without fully removing the engine?
Trying to get my oil pan down but it interferes with the motor mounts by about 1/8" on each side. Is it possible to get at least motor mount out
by disassembling it and sliding it out the bottom? Or out of the way to the side and up? It is a 351W based 427 in a MKII SPF. Thanks!
Here is a shot of the two bolts behind the motor mount that were difficult to get to:
This shows the blockoffplate that interferes with the back of the oil pan:
This shot shows the motor mount bolt and plate that interferes with lowering the oil pan straight down:

So much for my fresh set of eyes...what a clusterfu**. About 45 minutes to get those four oil pan screws from behind the motor mounts out. Who knows how long it might take to get them back in. Then removing all the other oil pan screws required an oil line to be removed. That then did release...
Gents, I looked at it with a fresh set of eyes from underneath, and with disconnection of the oil lines, I actually think I can remove the pan. Guess what I will be doing Sunday? I am not looking forward to a deeper dive, but it needs to be done right.
I really appreciate the advise here!
David, I am not sure that the oil pan gasket has washers between surfaces, but I will check. Thanks!
Rob, I do not think any swivels will get me there...don't know until I try though. Visually, I can barely see a few of them, and the thought of trying to reinstall those bolts tells me this...
I do have a new FelPro blue oil pan gasket that I can cut to replace the half moon. I know advise was to cut the oil pan gasket flush with the block, but it has internal metal. I can't just cut it with a blade. Should I focus on just surgically replacing the half moon near the first oil pan...
So, to get this far I needed to remove the fuel pump and some sections of coolant hose. As I was cleaning off the fuel that spilled out of the pump onto a cart shelf, I noticed a small copper washer on the cart. Is this from the pump or from another project of mine? I do not see a location...
