Next trip down I fitted the front lights and covers, hinges and striker plates and, after a lot of fiddling, got the driver's door on and lined up. Lads have finished the access panel that holds the washer bottle.
The initial subframe was just a temporary setup to hold things in place. The rear subframe is, as you state Ryan, a MKII style to hold the MKII rear bodywork. I believe Holman used to make a T44 - not sure if they still do. Others on here will likely know.
To think people pay millions for a picture of a bunch of sunflowers in a vase when they could hang one of your exhausts on their wall instead. A real work of art beautiful.
Passenger door fitted; door hardware on; inside opener on; door cutouts done; jackstraps nearly in; rear clip retainer back on; and, now that Andrew's car and the SSK are gone there was some room to have a play. Propped the wheels in the arches to see what the finished product might look like (as you do). Not too bad.
Gradually gathering bits and pieces together. In fact not really very much more to get apart from clutch and radiator. Fuel tanks started being fabricated last week.
Fuel selector valve looking good; Koni 8212s (not sure if I should paint the springs black?); Headers and mufflers ceramic coated; u-joints for steering shaft and shift linkage have arrived, as has a NOS voltage regulator; steering column trial fitted; and roundel lights modified and trial fitted on some scrap glass.
