Come on Pete his ears won't fit in the helmet!!!!!!!!!!! Interesting Weber went along with the night race Idea until Alonso pointed out the difficulties if it rained.I can imagine frantic wind tunnel testing with headlights during 2007.Anyone think they might try to fit them?
Another idea in Motorsport News is a twilight race, minimum lighting required and Bernie gets his timing for European TV.He did look funny on tele grabbing his giant lady by the hand and marching off with her.

Re: Life is never dull.....!

Fact: Spyker have gone to court in Switzerland for a ruling about the cars being operated by Super Aguri and Toro Rosso which , they allege, are last years cars from Honda and Red Bull respectively. They argue that it contravenes the Concord agrrement whereby each team must manufacture and own the I.P.R. for their own car.

Fact: When asked in Melbourne about the Super Aguri, Button replied -"yes :D -its the chassis I qualified on pole last year".rockonsmile

Probable fact: Super Aguri and Toro Rosso may either be excluded or may be allowed to race but any points will be disallowed.
Probable fact: Button's contract may possibly be up at the end of 2007. Simply for telling the truth.
The bucho, kacho, and kyobucho in Honda are a bit miffed (for USA read "pissed off")

Well that's a relief. I thought it was perhaps because the the fire's gone out.

But, every cloud has a silver lining, maybe Spyker will give him a seat!:D

According to Reuters, the French Newspaper L'Equipe has disclosed that
Magny Curse will not be renewed on the 2008 calendar.
Looks like Disneyland or Ricard will get it or there will not be a French Gp for the first time since 1955.
I feel happy, oh so happy.........

Valencia (thats in Spain not Ca ) will run a Gp on the streets of the city in 2009.
Thats what they are saying in Spain according to Diario As, the Spanish newspaper. Spanish news agency EFE that more news will be forthcoming soon.
It's the new European Gp I guess though FOM (FIA?) have trademarked the Mediterranean Gp as well.

Official release today:

THE 2008 FRENCH GRAND PRIX
Following the various articles that have appeared recently on the French Formula 1 Grand Prix, the French Motor Sporting Federation (FFSA), the organiser and promoter of the event, would like to make it clear that its Committee, which met on 21st March 2007, has unanimously decided to suspend the inscription of the French Grand Prix on the 2008 calendar as all the conditions necessary for success were not met.

The FFSA Committee will re-examine the situation during its next meeting in July 2007.

The first priority is that the 2007 French Grand Prix should take place in the best possible conditions on 1st July 2007 on the Nevers Magny-Cours circuit, where a well-filled programme awaits the spectators

Clear as mud.

No second race in Germany

Diminutive Bernierockonsmile , you know - the one with the very tall spouse, has declared Germany will not get back a second race.
Here is an exctract from the report on the Manipe website:

“Both [circuits] had to accept that it is difficult for one country to have two nearly identical events,“ the 76-year-old Englishman told the news agency 'sid'. Ecclestone explained: “It is better for them now because they only have to find 120,000 race-day spectators rather than 250,000.“

He therefore ruled out taking his circus to a completely new German circuit; such as the EuroSpeedway Lausitz, which has hosted Champ Car, DTM and Superbike races. “No. Not for formula one,“ Bernie said.

Mean while he is beavering away to bring races to places like India and Russia. Valencia is looking stronger and stronger now and Singapore should have made an announcement this weekend.
Singapore is talking about night races - will the cars have headlamps as well? Could be a bit different !

Is F1 Boring?

Is the F1 thread on the GT40s.com really boring? Judging by the number
of 'views' I suspect it's anything but boring.
Q:Now the 2007 season is underway ,how about starting another thread without the 'Boring' tag ?
A: On a postcard and what would you call it instead ?
