Vladimir Putin's SHORTEST SPEECH Putin’s Speech August 04, 2013 This is one time our elected leaders should pay attention to the advice of Vladimir Putin....How scary is that?

On August 04, 2013, Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, addressed the Duma, (Russian Parliament), and gave a speech about the tensions with minorities in Russia:

"In Russia live like Russians. Any minority, from anywhere, if it wants to live in Russia , to work and eat in Russia , should speak Russian, and should respect the Russian laws. If they prefer Sharia Law, and live the life of Muslim's then we advise them to go to those places where that's the state law. Russia does not need Muslim minorities. Minorities need Russia , and we will not grant them special privileges, or try to change our laws to fit their desires, no matter how loud they yell 'discrimination'. We will not tolerate disrespect of our Russian culture .We better learn from the suicides of America , England , Holland and France , if we are to survive as a nation. The muslims are taking over those countries and they will not take over Russia. The Russian customs and traditions are not compatible with the lack of culture or the primitive ways Sharia Law and Muslims. When this honorable legislative body thinks of creating new laws, it should have in mind the Russian national interest first, observing that the Muslims Minorities Are Not Russians."

The politicians in the Duma gave Putin a five minute standing ovation. If you keep this to yourself, you are part of the problem! It is a sad day when a Communist and KGB man tmakes more sense than our current government and the previous government
but here it is!!!! does this make Putin a woggski

Now, if one were to Google that or Snopes it, would we find the speech was legit or not?

(I'm too lazy.)

Regardless of whether Putin did or didn't make the speech, it'd sure be a breath of fresh air to hear a "leader" somewhere actually voice similar attitudes/policies.

I'm disgusted beyond words with immigrants - many times it's illegal immigrants - making demands of their 'host' country and seeing politicians sweating BLOOD over same...especially here in the States. It's probably just as bad in several other 'western' countries, I know, but, I see it happening with my own eyes faaaaaaaaar too often over here.

Enough already...

I've seen it a few times attributed to a few different leaders. I am not sure that Putin would ever have said anything like it although he would be the first one to practice the principals. After all why publicly declare something that might infer anyone had any rights at all? ( I mean Russian citizens of course)

He is a dictator nothing less.

Interesting comment Pete, but a major difference between UK and US systems is the power of the CEO or President/PM. I am not sure how it works in Oz to be fair, but a cursory comparison between the two named above could leave one to feel that a POTUS has many dictatorial type powers not evident in the UK model.

PC Note:

Because sensitive types (well two actually) can misconstrue even the best intentioned of comments in the Paddock, I would hasten to add that the term 'dictatorial' in this context is a simple name for executive power, not power by committee or parliament and since it is the subject of Pete's post is used mainly for continuity purposes and to explain a concept.

No Democrats were harmed in the production of this post.
