G50 low mileage transmissions for sale

I've been struggling with the decision on the next project to build and realized my 6'3" frame hasn't fit in the beautiful GT40s i have been fortunate enough to sit in. Therefore: I have a few G50 transmissions of which i'll keep one for my next project and plan on selling the other 2: one has 42K mi (Serial #G50011J03545) for $3700, the other one has 51K mi (Serial #G50011J00904) for $3200.
My brother-in-law wants to put them on Ebay, but i'd rather that the GT40 guys have a chance to buy them: Just to get an idea what shipping might cost, I'm located in South Carolina 29681. Several weeks ago I sent a G50 to Massaschuetts for about $150, crated and insured.
If interested, email me at [email protected].

Michael,

Don't give up on a GT40 just yet. Any manufacturer can lower floors, install adjustable pedal boxes, add Gurney bubbles, use low profile seats, etc., to accomodate "vertically challenged" drivers. I believe there's a member/owner here who is 6'5" and fits in his GT40.
I'm 6'1, 190 lbs, and fit comfortably in my DRB. I have a lowered floorpan, which my seats are directly mounted to(no tracks). I'd say that I have 2+" of headroom.
Now, if it's bulk that you have a problem with, a diet might help! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
BTW, your prices are a bit steep, for 1988 G50-01s without LSDs. 1988 G50s require the installation of a short rear cover(as much as $400 additional), in order to fit in a GT40. For your reference, I have $4200 in my rebuilt 1987 G50-01, which has the short rear cover , and that includes having a new Quaife ATB limited slip differential installed, at a cost of $1250. My gearbox also came with a 1 year warranty.

Bill is right on about the prices. Most G50s and 930s require rebuilds at 50-60K miles. That includes engagement teeth, syncros, bearings etc. Not to discourage you because we all apreciate you offering the trans to the forum first. If you check out ebay as I have, you will see most rebuilds with lsd's will go for around 3000. I just purchased a rebuilt 930 lsd for 3000 and will feel very good if my non rebuilt will bring 1500.
