GT40 road car chassis number?

I can't tell too well from the pics, but did some of the MKI road cars have seats more like a MkIII ? Doesn't seem to be the grommet type seat.

Some did have the embossed vinyl inset type seats like a MK III.

Hi Dave, yes some of the road cars and even prototype GT105 (at least when I rode in it in 1994) had non-grommeted seats. See this web page of a great road car: 1966 Ford GT40 P/1043 at Colin's Classic Auto

Good eyes. The best views of this kind of interior are, as said above, of 1043 on Colin Comer's web site. Colin was kind enough to give me some additional views so that we could copy those seats for 1149. The smooth parts are leather; the patterned parts are actually vinyl, according to him. I believe that this interior was an "upgrade" from the nylon ballistic cloth look with the nickel-plated grommets. "Upgrade is a funny word to describe any interior in a car which is so Spartan.

Alvin Copeland is the founder of Popeye's Restaurant (I have no idea if he ever owned a GT40 or not).

But hey, is it then just a coincidence that the first pic of Gerard in post #16 the GT40 is in front of a Popeye's Restaurant sign????
